Dr. Qian Lin joined the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor in 2022. She is a neuroscientist who studies biological substrates of cognition using neurotechnology and biomaterials. Before joining U of T, she was a Leon Levy postdoctoral fellow in NYC. She got her Bachelor at the University of Science and Technology of China, and PhD at National University of Singapore. She spent one year in Vienna Austria as a postdoc before moving to NYC.
Research Team: 10-20 trainees Facilities: GPU workstation for extensive data analysis, mesoscope for large-scale optical neural recordings, zebrafish facility.
Research
Combines whole-brain neural imaging and computational tools on behaving animal models to study the neural mechanisms underlying cognition and behaviours at the systems level
Works with the zebrafish model and cutting-edge microscopies
Develop data-driven computational models that can explain and predict behaviours from neural activity
